Scone's and Grandchildren - What a wonderful combination.

Although just three years old, Daniel was ready to help as I worked to create just the right scone for an upcoming order.  I can make biscotti in my sleep, but when a client asked about 100 scones, I began the task of creating the perfect scone in order to provide two fabulous flavors.

As I pulled out all sorts of ingredients from the cabinet, Daniel was excited and took them one by one saying "grazie" and then "prego" each time.  In my own little way, I've been trying to teach him what little Italian I know and what better way than thank you and your welcome!  The only problem is that while he is getting the grazie piece, he will say prego every time as well.  Oh well, one step at a time.

He pulls up a chair ready to be my helper - or so he thinks.  While it takes more time than normal, I would not have wanted it any other way.  As I prepared each ingredient to go into the bowl, I would say what it was and he would repeat every word.  I would gingerly hand it to him and he entered it into the bowl.  He loved it, I love it and when they arrived, his mother Janette and nana Eva loved eating the final creations.  After all that work, Daniel, being the fussy little eater he is, never even tasted one!  After a couple of batches, we ended up creating a sweet tasting scone of white chocolate, cranberries and orange.

What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.  Let me know if you would like the recipe.  It was delicious!

Fino a quel momento (until that time)
