Yes Carole - 60 is the New Fabulous!

Thursday night the girlfriends got together to celebrate the first birthday of 2011 from the class of 69.  It's the year everyone turns the big 60 and tonight was Carole's night.  I do need to mention the year as one would never guess it looking at Carole.  She shines with her smile and looks fabulous.  We spent the night enjoying her celebration at Tangierino Restaurant on Main Street, Charlestown, MA.  Can't believe it's been there for 10 years and we never heard of it.  It offered a sensory experience with a beautiful decor and authentic Moroccan dishes.  We even had a belly dancer and music throughout the night.

It was quite a romantic environment but we fit it very well and the service was great.  We were even able to surprise the birthday girl as she was not aware who would be attending.  The ordering was varied with soups, salads, appetizers and entrees and we were able to capture a few photos but they never do justice to the taste and aroma of the food as well as our good looks...

A few of us ordered the Harira soup which had lentils, chickpeas and a few other delicious ingredients.  They even brought us an additional bowl that was ordered in error.  Oh well, we found a way to finish it off.  I ordered the Four Layer Tuna Tartare appetizer that was so good, it made my night.

Spicy tuna, honey mango, guacamole, scallions, cucumber and cilantro.

Judy tried and loved the Trio Lamb Chop.  It had a little spiced asparagus along with truffled potatoes.

We ended the night a a beautiful chocolate mousse cake that Ellie brought which is Carole's favorite.  A great night once again with good food and wonderful friends.  This is a special year for many of my friends as well as my husband.  How much fun are we going to have celebrating???

Enjoy what you have and treasure those special moments in-between.  It makes life what it is - wonderful.

Fino a quel momento (until that time)

LID
